You learn the craft where it actually happens: on shoot days and in the edit, on real productions. Not as a school exercise, but as work that goes out the door.
You'll work at Nami (a social-change agency, known for #EchtMannelijk among others) and at our sister company Waves Video Agency (9 years of high-end video production for brands). As a video-maker intern, you'll shoot and edit on both: social-impact campaigns and commercial client productions. Every intern who's worked with us has always loved the variety of the assignments.
Editing — from short social cuts to mini-docs and client videos. And yes: also just the edits that need to get finished, on deadline. That's the real work, and it's how you get prepared for the field.
Shooting & assisting on set — camera, lighting, sound, setting up. The goal is to be able to send you out on jobs on your own during the internship.
Finishing — editing in Premiere Pro or DaVinci Resolve, sound, exports, quality control. The last 10% matters a lot, so always be precise in your finishing.
Your own work — for #EchtMannelijk, for example, there's room to come up with, shoot and edit something yourself (possibly together with the other intern).

You'll be mentored by Ilia ten Böhmer, filmmaker and founder (films co-supported by the Netherlands Film Fund, screened at the Giffoni Film Festival & the Netherlands Film Festival, among others) and Fabian Muller, producer at Waves. You'll learn from people who do this every day for paying clients.
You're studying film, audiovisual media, media, or something related (MBO/HBO/university).
You already have editing experience (Premiere and/or DaVinci) — especially storytelling and making a technically solid edit — and you genuinely want to get good at it.
You're technical: you know how to set up a set and can assist strongly.
An eye for detail: composition, light, colour, sound and finishing are never an afterthought for you.
You can keep up the pace and handle deadlines and feedback well.
You're highly motivated, proactive, sociable, and work independently and carefully.
Affinity with impact: you get energy from work that contributes something to society — but also from the 'smaller' jobs.
Start: from September 2026 (earlier or later by arrangement)
Commitment: 4–5 days per week
Location: Utrecht — partly remote by arrangement
Compensation: internship allowance
