Internship: Creative (film)

You're bursting with ideas and want to tell stories that actually mean something. At Nami, you'll develop the concepts and storylines behind campaigns that matter on a national scale — with #EchtMannelijk as our biggest project right now.

Nami is a social change agency. We design change for governments, purpose-driven companies, and nonprofits. We write a strategy for the change we want to see — one that takes a systemic view and brings together different solutions that, together, drive that change. This can take many forms, but it's often films, campaigns, and social content that shift behaviour. Working from that systemic lens, we look at the people within the system: What really moves someone, and what approach gets them to see differently and act differently? #EchtMannelijk, for example, is our attempt to shift the culture around masculinity — for women's safety and for men's mental health. No finger-wagging, but stories and imagery that reach men in their own world. You're the one who imagines what those stories look like.

What you'll work on

  • Concepts and storylines for films, content and campaigns — from a rough idea to a worked-out concept or storyline.

  • A vision for how you reach people — you think about tone, narrative structure and which image or scene truly lands.

  • Creative output — posters, social, formats. One image or one line that sticks. (Think: "The calmest man in the room is the strongest.")

  • Working with the production team — your concept goes to our videomakers and gets actually produced. You stay involved until it's finished.

We think in stories, not formats: your concept can become a film, but just as easily a poster, social format, website or game.

Who you'll learn from

You'll be mentored by and work alongside Ilia ten Böhmer, film director and founder of Nami (films co-funded by the Netherlands Film Fund and screened at renowned international film festivals; initiator of #EchtMannelijk). You'll be part of a multidisciplinary team of highly driven creators.

Who we're looking for

  • You're studying film or something related (HKU Film or a comparable degree at university level).

  • You're full of ideas and have a clear point of view — you're willing to choose a direction and defend it.

  • You have a broad curiosity about society and want to work on big stories.

  • You're highly motivated to get the most out of your internship.

  • You work well independently and as part of a team, and you're open to feedback.

Practical

  • Start: from September 2026 (earlier or later by arrangement)

  • Commitment: 3-5 days per week

  • Location: Utrecht — partly remote by arrangement

  • Allowance: internship allowance

How to apply

Send your motivation + CV (and a portfolio is recommended if you have one) to jobs@wearenami.com. Questions? Call or text Ilia at +31 6 83 12 02 93.

In your motivation letter, you're welcome to include one concrete idea you'd like to make for #EchtMannelijk — or another idea around sustainability, tackling misinformation, democracy, or connection. But if you don't have time for this, no problem at all; don't let it hold you back.

Want to be mostly fully behind the camera and in the edit yourself? Then look at our Videomaker (Editor & Camera) internship — that's the one for that.
